Owen Pitters Earns CCHA Rookie of the Week Honors

A Strong Start at Northern Michigan for Owen Pitters
Four games into his college career, Owen Pitters is giving Northern Michigan plenty to be excited about.
The Rule 1 Sports forward earned CCHA Rookie of the Week honors after finishing the Wildcats’ series against Stonehill with a goal, three assists, and a +4 rating.
Friday was his biggest night yet. Pitters helped Northern Michigan secure a 5–1 win with a goal and two assists, then picked up another assist in Saturday’s overtime loss. He now has four points in four appearances, putting him alongside Michael Burchill at the top of Northern Michigan’s scoring list.
What we like about this weekend is how much Owen contributed beyond those four points. He put nine shots on net, won more than half his faceoffs, and blocked two shots. He was involved throughout both games and helped his line produce consistently.
His season didn’t begin with an immediate spot in the lineup. Owen sat out opening weekend before making his debut against Michigan State. Since then, he has earned more minutes, including opportunities on the power play.
That makes this recognition especially meaningful. Moving into college hockey means adjusting to a new pace, new expectations, and a role that has to be earned. Owen has stayed with it, and this weekend showed what he can bring to the Wildcats.
We’re proud to have Owen as part of Rule 1 Sports and look forward to watching him build on this start.
Congratulations on your first CCHA Rookie of the Week honor, Owen!
One Team. One Standard. One Legacy.
