Kayla Meneghin
Head Of Women's Hockey Division
Kayla joins Rule 1 Sports after accumulating a long resume in both coaching and playing! Prior to her time in the NWHL, Kayla spent four years at The Gunnery, a renowned prep school in Washington, Connecticut, and four years with SUNY-Plattsburgh, where she played NCAA Div. III Women’s Ice Hockey.
During her time at SUNY-Plattsburgh, Kayla led her team to three NCAA National Championships and amassed a total of 188 points in 117 games, ranking 4th All-Time in Career Points, 5th All-Time in Career Assists, and 16th All-Time in Career Goals in the NCAA. She was also named a First-Team All-American in back-to-back seasons, doing so in the 2015/2016 campaign, as well as 2016/2017. Following her collegiate career, Kayla played in the NWHL for three seasons with the Connecticut Whale and the Buffalo Beauts.
Kayla started her coaching career while still playing in the NWHL, serving as an Assistant Coach for St. Anselm’s NCAA Div. I Women’s Ice Hockey Program. After finishing her playing career, Kayla joined the Jersey Hitmen as an Assistant Coach with their USPHL Premier team, coaching the 2020/2021 season.
Kayla has since coached with the New Jersey Bandits and Ironbound Elite before joining the New Jersey Colonials as an Assistant Coach at the 16U and 19U levels.

Rule 1 Sports Advisor's & Video Coaches will create three detailed scouting reports
on your game. The scouting reports include rankings on 17 different attributes in the athletes game, league positioning, player potential & strengths & weaknesses.

Highlight Reels
Highlight Reels are a key part to showing an athletes strengths and weakness on the ice. At Rule 1 Sports we create and assess as many highlight reels that are needed to continue advancing our players on.

Week to Week Communication
Each athlete has the ability to stay connected with their advisor through scheduling frequent phone calls. This ensures all questions are answered and everyone is working in the same direction. We value strong relationships with our athletes to stay connected on and off the ice. This communication aids in strengthening the promotional side of what we do with our athletes.

Advising on Player Performance
Your Rule 1 Sports Advisor will take the time to watch and provide feedback on games either in person or over video to improve your game. We will also help guide you on the right path towards choosing that perfect team for the following season and success in the future.

College Placement
Finding the right college is the most important part in the process. Our Rule 1 Sports Advisors are trained in making sure all of your needs are accommodated when trying to find the college that alines best with your goals for the future.

Performance Mindset Coach
We focus on physical and mental play through our personalized hockey assessments. These are analyzed thoroughly with each player. The goal of this program is to identify your strengths, improve your weaknesses, create a top hockey mindset, win the one on one battles, and make the right choices.

Video Analysis
Our video coaches take the time to review our athletes game film, but only after the athlete
schedules a zoom call within their app. Once the call is scheduled the specific video coach that you are working with will analyze the game, cut certain clips and will focus on specific deficiencies that they can identify through film.

Nutriton
Our fitness nutrition specialist dedicates her time to each and every athlete. At Rule 1 Sports, our athletes receive individualized nutritional advice leading to better performance and a healthier lifestyle.
